Hi, I’m Joan.

I’m Joan Pacifico, the owner and founder of Sandalwood Shoppes. After more than 40 years in retail, the part I love most is still the people—the conversations, the connections, and the chance to help someone bring their business to life.

I opened our Leland store in 2019 with a simple hope: to give small business owners a welcoming place to share what they create and grow with support around them. That hope has since brought us to Hampstead, where we’ve welcomed another community of shoppe owners and customers.

I care deeply about the people who make Sandalwood what it is. I want our shoppe owners to feel encouraged and our customers to feel appreciated every time they walk through the door. Sharing what I’ve learned and helping others find their footing is a meaningful part of this work for me.

Giving back matters to me, too. Through Shop 4 A Cause, we bring our businesses and neighbors together to support local nonprofit organizations.
